Eleven HSV Pickleball Club members were among 106 total players who descended upon the Bartlett, Tenn. coommunity center to battle for top honors in the second annual Spring Fling Pickleball Tournament April 10 and 11.

Located northeast of Memphis, Bartlett drew entries from Mississippi, Arkansas and Tennessee.

Competing in all doubles brackets, three Hot Springs Village doubles teams captured first place: Diane Ramsdell and Jane Riffel, Women’s A Doubles; Rick Gautier and David Tappe, Men’s A+ Doubles; and Diane and Dennis Ramsdell, Mixed B Doubles.

Coming in second place were doubles teams Jim McPherson and Lee Hendrix (Memphis), Men’s B+ Doubles; Jane Riffel and Jim McPherson, Mixed B+ Doubles; Larry Davis and his Tennessee partner, Mixed C Doubles.

Third place finishers were: Larry Davis and Dennis Ramsdell, Men’s B+ Doubles; and Bobby Roling and Dan Ellsworth, Men’s A+ Doubles.

Players enjoyed special hospitality from Olive Garden, Subway and Buffalo Wild Wings.

Many local upcoming events are in the works for pickleball activities this spring and the upcoming summer and fall.
